In the last couple of weeks I have seen a very welcome rise in my HubPages earning, also in google impressions and even clicks. Overall however the picture is still pretty grim. I am not talking about any actual money one could take to a supermarket and buy food with, but I can afford a Costa cappuccino once a week.

Reddit, the web traffic engine!
Yesteday a couple of my pages got the most traffic ever, with the help of the little alien looking guy with the orange eyes, reddit. I had tried other social bookmarking sites before, digg, StumbleUpon, Redgage with basically no results. StumbleUpon, was particularly unsuccessful, possibly they consider me a spammer, which lets face it, in that context, I am.
I have also pinned the geckos and Zoidberg on Pinterest. Again, although I love the site, it is so elegant, and I’ve got a few followers and some repins, hardly anybody actually bothers to click on photos to come to the pages that my pictures are taken from, so for traffic generation it is pretty much useless, and now the links are nofollow. Theoretically I’m still working till the end of the week, but I’m off to France tomorrow for some early redundancy rest. Was going to make an amusing poster of the Top Man of our place telling me: “All your frog are belong to us”, but when I consulted a couple of friends they thought it might be a bit controversial, and could be taken in the wrong way.
One would hope The Powers That Be would have a sense of humour, but who knows. Of course there is the question, “do I care?”, what can they do, fire me? But I shall not be paid the redundancy money till the end of this month, and the redundancy money is essential for my plan to delay the inevitable day when I have to stack Tesco shelves for benefits. So I decided to play it safe and left this:
I came, I mapped, I left defeated
Mini Mission Accomplished
Monthly adsense reckoning.
I had set myself a target of of £20 to earn in April, the first full month that I’ve been using adsense on sites, and I have reached it, just. Last month I earned £20.04! I thought I was going to fail, in even this pretty modest endeavour, but a last minute burst of 2 clicks yesterday evening saved the day! Yay! Continue reading
