The Redundant Scientist had always planned to dedicate her life to the service of Science. Unfortunately Science had other ideas and has kicked the Redundant Scientist out, for the sins of her model organism proving to be not sufficiently proficient in generating high impact publications.
RS surprised herself by avoiding Complete Mental Meltdown at the prospect of the ruin of her childhood dreams (The fact that Complete Mental Meltdown had pretty much occurred as a result of the pursuit of those dream probably helped), and is filling in her time by attempting to make money online, until the redundancy money runs out and she has to stack Tesco shelves for benefits.
